Isola Group S.à r.l., a market leader in dielectric materials used to fabricate advanced multilayer printed circuit boards, announced that GETEK® laminates and prepegs are now in production at its facility in Düren, Germany, which will shorten lead times to Isola’s European customers. GETEK materials provide the low-dielectric constant and low-dissipation factors demanded by high-speed, low-loss printed circuit board designs and applications, while providing superior thermal performance and high reliability based on the system’s 180°C glass transition temperature (Tg).
CEA-Leti announced that a consortium of 15 leading telecommunications operators, vendors, research centers and academic institutions have launched “MiWaveS” (Millimeter-Wave Small Cell Access and Backhauling), a European collaborative project whose goal is to develop millimeter-wave (mmW) key radio technologies to provide multi-Gbps data rates to future 5G cellular mobile networks users. 
Pre-launch preparations for the Sentinel-1A satellite, carrying an Airbus Defence and Space built radar instrument, are in full swing at Europe´s Kourou Spaceport in French Guiana. The satellite will mark a new era of Earth observation.
