Richardson RFPD Inc. announced an expanded global franchise agreement with Sierra Wireless. The new agreement builds on the long-term collaboration between the two companies, as well as a mutual commitment to serve the emerging industrial IoT market. Under the terms of the agreement, Richardson RFPD will sell Sierra Wireless cellular modules and modems to its global audience.

 Laird, a global technology company, announced that their LTE/MIMO antennas will be installed on a major domestic automobile manufacturer’s North American vehicles, beginning model year 2015.  

 According to an updated market forecast from ABI Research, the installed base of active wireless connected devices will exceed 16 billion in 2014, about 20 percent more than in 2013. The number of devices will more than double from the current level, with 40.9 billion forecasted for 2020.
