Thales Alenia Space announced an important milestone regarding the satellite integration and test center built in Turkey. The building is air and water tight, and installation of the main test systems is well under way.

The new R&S BTC broadcast test center from Rohde & Schwarz provides a complete testing environment for nearly all audio, video and multimedia applications – in a single device. The RF reference signal generator generates RF signals for all global TV and broadcasting standards and simulates transmissions. The generator can also internally analyze the audio/video functions of DUTs in realtime. The modular design provides a high degree of scalability, allowing the R&S BTC to be configured for any customer requirement. 

Aeroflex announced that its TM500 Test Mobile has added support for the 3GPP WCDMA Release 10 standard, the latest evolution of the HSPA+ standards, which adds support for MC-HSDPA (Multi Carrier High-Speed Download Packet Access).

This follows its recent world first in validating RF conformance test cases for CA in PTCRB.  RAN 5 verification paves the way for protocol test validations and the inclusion of this technology in GCF and PTCRB certification.

 Aeroflex Ltd. announced the launch of the TM500 Multi-UE LTE-A Test Mobile, which supports carrier aggregation across multiple mobile terminals or UE. Carrier aggregation, a key component of LTE-A, allows multiple carriers comprised of either contiguous or non-contiguous spectrum to be added together, allowing wider channel bandwidths -- and higher data rates -- to be achieved. 

Agilent introduced MIPI™ M-PHY physical layer receiver and transmitter tests with switch automation. The tests are designed to accelerate the turn-on and debug of MIPI M-PHY-based systems and provide design engineers an efficient way to ensure M-PHY devices interoperate with the application processor.

Anite, a global leader in wireless equipment testing technology, announced that it has further demonstrated its protocol test case leadership with the first LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) carrier aggregation (CA) test case verification submissions to RAN5. These submissions were based on initial verifications originally submitted by Anite to RAN5 in April of 2013. This key achievement is a stepping stone toward validation, leading to the inclusion of these test cases in both GCF and PTCRB device certification requirements.
