Wavecom SA and Infosys Technologies have signed a partnership agreement to address the growing machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless connectivity market. As part of this agreement, Infosys becomes a Wavecom Certified Competence Center and the first in the Asia-Pacific region. As such the company will offer design, development and integration services based on Open AT®, Wavecom's wireless software platform.

The initiative recognizes that organizations are increasingly adopting advanced machine-to-machine wireless connectivity for a wide range of applications such as telematics, telemetry, real-time asset tracking and security, using cellular networks in conjunction with emerging technologies like RFID and GPS.

The new partnership fills the void in a space where there is increasing need for software and software integration services with more and more intelligence and connectivity being embedded into devices to give businesses the competitive edge with access to real time information. It is envisaged that the partnership will provide clients of both companies with cost-competitive designs, rapid time-to-market and industrial reliability.
