Providing design engineers with a range of discrete and network resistive devices for applications requiring a high degree of stability and reliability, TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division offers a comprehensive range of high temperature resistive products, including the PFC-HT Series chip resistor, PFC-HT Divider Series voltage divider, 1900 Series DIP resistor network and 4700 Series SIP resistor network. The devices are constructed using IRC’s patented TaNFilm® self passivating resistive technology.

“We offer a full complement of high temperature packages, from discretes to high pin count networks,” said Jerry Seams, applications engineering manager for IRC Advanced Film Division. “By utilizing our TaNFilm technology, we are able to provide customers with a range of resistive products with the stability and reliability necessary for high temperature requirements—up to 200°C—including automotive underhood and aerospace applications. Additional applications for the high temperature products include satellites, down-hole instrumentation, and oil and gas well-logging equipment.

The PFC-HT Series chip resistors are available in 0603, 0805 and 1206 chip sizes, and feature a resistance range from 10 W to 85 kW, with tolerances to ±1% and absolute TCRs down to ±25 ppm/°C. Voltage and power ratings are 33.3 V/62.5 mW, 50 V/100 mW and 100 V/125 mW, respectively, with an operating temperature range of -55˚ to +200˚C.

Resistance range for the 1206 PFC-HT Divider Series is 100 W to 25 KW per resistor, with a power rating of 100 mW per resistor, absolute TCR to ±25 ppm/°C and a maximum voltage rating of 100 V. Operating temperature ranges from -65˚ to +200˚C.

The high temperature chip resistor and voltage divider feature wraparound non-leaching terminations, with either gold-plated or 100% tin (Pb-free) versions specifically designed to enable the devices to operate at elevated temperatures.

The 1900 Series DIP resistor network features a resistance range from 50 W to 100 kW, standard tolerances down to ±0.1% and available TCR down to ±10 ppm/°C. Operating temperature ranges from -55˚ to +150˚C. The 4700 Series precision SIP network has a resistance range of 20 W to 400 kW, standard tolerances down to ±0.05%, and available TCRs to ±50 ppm/°C, ±100 ppm/°C and ±300 ppm/°C. Voltage rating is 100 V and power rating ranges from 0.36 to 1.08 W, depending on pin count. Operating temperature ranges from -55˚ to +125˚C.

IRC will also produce devices outside these specifications to meet customer requirements. Both the 1900 Series and 4700 Series devices are qualified to MIL-PRF-83401, while the PFC-HT and PFC-HT Divider products are qualified to MIL-PRF-55342.
