The recent ARMMS RF & Microwave Society Conference took on an international flavor with the usual array of UK speakers being joined by others from across Europe, including Belgium and Italy, and the US. The two-day, Nera-sponsored conference, held in Newport Pagnell, UK, featured speakers from industry and academia and covered a wide range of topics including power amplifiers, VCOs, various test and measurement methods including synthetic instruments and LXI, sensor networks and millimeter radiometry.

The award for the best paper, which is voted for by the attendees, went to Malcolm Edwards of Applied Wave Research for his presentation titled: Signal Integrity, an Overview for High Speed Analogue and RF Engineers. The Society Dinner also proved to be the ideal forum for networking as well as for enjoying excellent food and wine and good company.

Throughout the two days there was a tabletop exhibition where manufacturers were on hand to discuss products and new developments. During the business meeting on the second day it was announced that the next ARMMS Conference will be held on 16 & 17 April 2007 with the venue in the south of England still to be confirmed. The coordinator of this conference will be Andrew Ballard of QinetiQ. For more information visit: www.armms.org.
