Three New 1-Bit Digital Attenuators Cover DC to 10 GHz - Wideband Attenuators Feature Excellent Linearity for Test Equipment Applications

Chelmsford, MA, July 21, 2010 - Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced three new SMT packaged high linearity 1-Bit Digital Attenuators which are ideal for automotive, broadband, cellular/3G, WiMAX/4G, military and test & measurement equipment applications from DC to 10 GHz.

The HMC800LP3E, HMC801LP3E and the HMC802LP3E are digitally controlled, 1-Bit GaAs MMIC Digital Attenuators which operate from DC to 10 GHz, and provide attenuation levels of 10 dB, 15 dB, and 20 dB respectively. These compact digital attenuators exhibit excellent accuracy of +/- 0.5 dB, with up to +55 dBm input IP3, and switching speed as fast as 120 ns. The HMC800LP3E, HMC801LP3E and the HMC802LP3E deliver insertion loss as low as 2.0 dB, and accept CMOS/ TTL control signals at very low DC current.

The HMC800LP3E, HMC801LP3E and the HMC802LP3E are housed in a RoHS compliant and footprint compatible 3 x 3 mm QFN leadless packages. These new high linearity digital attenuators can be used to replace multiple SPDT switches and fixed attenuator pads in demanding applications such as point to point radio, test and measurement, military, and space applications. These new high performance digital attenuators complement Hittite’s broad line of control products for IF, RF and microwave applications.
