LOWELL, Mass. - July 31, 2007 – M/A-COM today expanded its industry leading line of amplifier components with the introduction of the M/A-COM MAAP-000082, a new 1.9 GHz linear power amplifier. The M/A-COM MAAP-000082 is a low cost, three-stage power amplifier that is ideally suited for use in PHS (Personal Handy-phone System) applications, which require high gain, high efficiency and small size. The linear power amplifier is equipped with advanced ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection and can withstand electrostatic discharges up to 1,000 V without degradation in performance.

"The introduction of this new, unique power amplifier further cements M/A-COM’s commitment to providing the most comprehensive and durable amplifier products on the market today," said David Folding, product manager, M/A-COM. "Because of its rugged design, it can withstand high electrostatic discharges without degrading performance. As a result, this is one of the most reliable amplifier components available on the market today."

The M/A-COM MAAP-000082 amplifier is designed to provide 21 dBm of linear output power and 36 dB gain, while consuming 200 mA of current. The amplifier has -63 dBc ACPR (adjacent channel power ratio) performance at 600 KHz offset. The amplifier is housed in a lead-free 3mm 12-lead PQFN package.
