Calgary, AB – May 6, 2008 – Acceleware Corp. (TSX-V: AXE), a leading developer of acceleration solutions for high-performance computing applications, in conjunction with Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), announced today that Korea’s Radio Research Laboratory (RRL) is adopting their combined simulation solution to conduct the testing and certification of all cellular handsets in Korea. RRL is mandated to certify all cellular handsets for the Korean market as well as perform compliance testing and simulations to create national standards. The Acceleware and SPEAG accelerated simulation solution is currently used by RRL to solve advanced Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC), Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Signal Integrity problems to determine the electromagnetic safety of mobile devices for human exposure. “RRL is performing compliance testing and creating standards in Korea covering human exposure to RF fields as well as EMC and EMI,” said RRL researcher Mr. Sung-sik Kong. “The introduction of SEMCAD X combined with the Acceleware ClusterInABox Quad has improved our research potential by increasing our data processing capabilities. In addition, this new technology provides us with more powerful simulation software to solve advanced human exposure to RF fields and EMC/EMI problems.” “With this new turnkey simulation solution, we now have the ability to run large models with simulation speeds of up to one GigaCells per second or even faster, something we’ve never been able to do before using an enhanced desktop machine,” said Dr. Nik Chavannes, Director of Software at SPEAG. “We are confident that this revolutionary technology will push the barrier of simulation interpretation.” Based on the computing architecture of NVIDIA’s Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), Acceleware’s products, paired with SPEAG’s SEMCAD X, provide a significant increase in speed to Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) simulations, offering a high-speed turnkey simulation solution that can quickly and accurately model regulatory compliance for cell phone manufacturers and other electronic devices. With this combined solution, RRL is able to expand their research capabilities for larger and more sophisticated electromagnetic simulations. “SPEAG customers are constantly challenged with shorter project development cycles and solving increasingly difficult projects and complex problems,” said Ryan Schneider, Acceleware’s CTO. “Acceleware’s solution leverages the multi-core processing power of the GPU which allows users to gain speed and conduct simulations of a size previously thought to be impractical.” To learn more about Acceleware, please visit: www.acceleware.com/.
