Microwave and RF Design Software

This version 6.3 of the LINMIC microwave and RF IC design suite is a geometry- and EM-based suite of integrated tools for the efficient design, optimization and layout of passive and active, single-layer and multilayer, linear and nonlinear RF and microwave circuits. In this release, the active device modeling has been extended for consideration and extraction of temperature dependencies of FET/HEMT model parameters. These dependencies can be taken into account in DC-, AC- and harmonic balance circuit simulation when using LINMIC, so that active circuits can now be simulated including self-heating effects.

These two new engineering tools aid in selecting optimal feedthrus. The first tool allows users to search over 2,000 designs of RF/50 W, DC and capacitor/filter feedthrus. Search criteria includes: feedthru function, body and pin diameters, and pin tip type. The second tool is an impedance reference calculator that allows engineers to determine the opposing dimension of glass to pin, or pin to glass that will achieve optimal impedance in a specific package.
