Comtech Receives $2.5 M Order for Satellite Power Amplifiers

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology Inc., received an order valued in excess of $2.5 M for state-of-the-art 500 W Ka-band high power amplifiers supporting the emerging high-throughput satellite market.

These 500 W amplifiers feature high linear power and are operational at high ambient temperatures.

Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech, stated, "With emerging broadband satellite services designed around a new generation of high-throughput satellites, we have seen a surge in demand for the high power Ka-band amplifiers that uplink these broadband interactive services and video broadcasts. We have been working with our customers and vendors over the past two years to develop a high reliability 500 W product, and we are particularly honored to have been selected for this important new Ka-band application."
