CEA‑Leti, a leading European research institute for microelectronics, reaffirmed its long‑standing collaboration with GlobalFoundries (GF), whose ongoing participation in the FAMES Pilot Line as an end user is advancing more than two decades of joint work on fully depleted silicon‑on‑insulator (FD‑SOI) technology and reinforcing Europe's leadership in energy‑efficient, sovereign semiconductors.

As part of the EU’s drive to support a multifaceted approach to addressing 6G challenges and promises, CEA-Leti has been chosen to coordinate two projects to help build first-class 6G technology capabilities and boost standardization efforts across Europe.

CEA and Astrocast announced their collaboration on a low-cost, bidirectional communication module that enables corporations to communicate with their remote assets in areas not covered by terrestrial networks.

The EuCNC  and 6G Summit hybrid conference, “Connectivity for a Sustainable World,” will accommodate both in-person and remote attendance for four days of keynotes, panels, work sessions and exhibits to explore future critical 6G application. 

CEA-Leti announced a visionary EU 6G research project for next-generation wireless connectivity called RISE-6G. It will design, prototype and test smart and energy-sustainable technological advances based on reconfigurable intelligent surfaces. 

As countries around the world begin rolling out 5G wireless networks, CEA-Leti is looking ahead to sixth-generation technologies that will surpass the data-transfer capability of 5G.
