Moderator – Microwave Journal®
Pat Hindle, Media Director
Pat Hindle is media director for Microwave Journal® and has been with the magazine for more than 17 years. He parlayed his process engineering background into a management role in marketing communications for several leading microwave semiconductor manufacturers including MACOM, Raytheon and Skyworks (Alpha Industries), in addition to working at MIT Nanostructures Laboratory manufacturing X-ray diffraction gratings for space research telescopes like Chandra. He has a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering from Cornell University and MBA from Northeastern University. In his current role as MWJ editorial director, he is responsible for setting MWJ’s editorial direction and developing marketing opportunities for industry clients. He created the RF and Microwave Community on LinkedIn with more than 100,000 members plus co-hosts the popular Frequency Matters videos and podcast series.
COMSOL
Jiyoun Munn, Senior Technical Product Manager
Technical Talk - 10am PT / 1pm ET: Multiphysics for Satellite Systems: RF Performance, Thermal Drift, and Robust Design
Jiyoun Munn is a senior technical product manager at COMSOL, leading the development of high-frequency EM products. He manages the RF and wave optics development teams and guides MEMS product management, shaping strategy and execution across RF, wave optics, and MEMS initiatives. As a senior member of IEEE, he brings more than 25 years of RF industry experience, has created more than 150 antenna and microwave device prototypes, and holds patents for antenna interrogation systems. He earned an MS in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.
Nuvotronics
Ben Cannon, CTO
Technical Talk - 10:30am PT / 1:30pm ET: RF Filters for Modern SATCOM Systems
Ben has been a member of the technical staff at Nuvotronics for over 12 years, most recently serving as the Chief Technologist for the organization. His current focus is the application of the Nuvotronics PolyStrata manufacturing process to spaceborne and airborne phased array antenna systems. Throughout his tenure, Ben has led multiple spaceflight hardware developments and successfully guided the design and qualification of RF components for both commercial and government space applications. Prior to Nuvotronics, Ben was an antenna designer at Raytheon Missile Systems, where he specialized in the development of millimeter wave antenna and radome solutions for guided munitions.
MathWorks
Mike McLernon, Principal Technical Marketing Engineer
Technical Talk - 11am PT / 2pm ET: Beamforming for Non-Terrestrial Networks
Since joining MathWorks in 2001, Mike McLernon has overseen the development of numerous PHY layer capabilities in Communications Toolbox, and of connectivity to multiple SDR hardware platforms, advocating for communications and software-defined radio products. He received his BSEE from the University of Virginia and his MEEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has worked in the satellite and wireless industries for over 30 years.
Maury Microwave
Dr. Zacharia Ouardirhi, Senior VP Customer Engagement
Technical Talk - 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET: NTN in the Lab: Reproducing Real World Satellite Impairments with Channel Emulators
