Title: Mastering EM Simulation in the THz Regime: Expert Tips for Fast Results
Date: March 11, 2026
Time: 8am PT / 11am ET
Sponsored by: CADFEM
Presented by: Alexander Shalaby, High-Frequency Product Manager at CADFEM for Western Europe
Abstract:
To enable communication links operating at terahertz (THz) frequencies, establishing a robust and accurate link budget is essential. Achieving this requires antennas with exceptionally high gain. Typically, such performance can be realized through two primary approaches: dielectric lens systems or phased array architectures. However, at THz frequencies, both methods impose significant computational challenges due to the complexity of electromagnetic modeling. Consequently, leveraging the most efficient numerical solvers—or hybrid approaches—is critical for practical design and optimization. In this presentation, we will demonstrate how Synopsys/Ansys HFSS empowers engineers to overcome these challenges and accelerate the path toward making future networks a reality.
