IEEE Phased Array 2024

October 23, 2024

It was a big year for the IEEE Phased Array event in 2024 as they moved from a hotel in suburban Boston to the convention center downtown at the Hynes Convention Center. It was a record year for the number of attendees and exhibitors. This symposium covers the most recent advances in phased array technology and presents an opportunity for members of the international community to interact with colleagues in the field of Phased Array Systems and Technology.

The first keynote talk, by John Cowles of Analog Devices, covered how commercial technologies can be applied to military applications. It reviewed phased array technology, current commercial architectures like tile-based systems and future directions for digital beamforming and multiple beams. The next talk by john Corrigan of Hughes took a look at their design and development of terminals for the One Web constellation. It showed the system tradeoffs and measurements made to get into production.

The exhibition has grown significantly with companies like Raytheon, ADI, Rogers, Samtec, R&S, Keysight, Quantic Electronics, IMST, MathWorks, Fortify and others. I can see this event growing larger each year. It takes place again at the Hynes in 2026 as it is every other year.
