EDI CON China 2019 returned to Beijing and the Chinese National Convention Center (CNCC) April 1-3 with an exhibition of 100 industry-leading companies as well as a technical conference that included 2 and a half days of technical presentations, workshops, panels and featured keynote talks.

The World ATM Congress took place in Madrid from the 12^th to the 14^th of March at the IFEMA exhibition centre, the same venue where EuMW 2018 was held last September. The congress is jointly organised by two of the leading world ATC organisations, CANSO and ATCA.

The biggest hit at MWC19 was flexible display technology that was shown off in 2 foldable phones, the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, and in a wearable smartwatch phone from ZTE, the nubia Alpha. While 5G was everywhere (I don’t think I saw one booth that did not mention 5G), it is just emerging into the market but will certainly take off later this year. Nokia voiced this timing in their press conference saying that they expect the first half o 2019 to be somewhat slow with 5G taking off more quickly in the second half of this year. EDI CON China 2019, taking place April 1-3, 2019 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, is accepting nominations for the second annual EDI CON Product Innovation Awards. The awards recognize the best of the best products on display at the annual exhibition.

EDI CON USA announces its plenary keynote speakers—Ovi Jacob and Ransom Stephens—for the 2018 conference, which will be held in Santa Clara, Calif. October 17 and 18.

The 2018 IEEE EMC+SIPI event returned to Long Beach, CA after last visiting in 2011. The event continues to include Signal Integrity & Power Integrity (SIPI) as part of the conference, reflecting the EMC Society’s influence and focus on this critical topic of engineering design.
