Intel, Wipro join trade group to expand markets for IoT

 Intel, a world leader in computing innovation, and Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, announced that they are joining the International M2M Council (IMC), a global trade association for the growing industry known as the Internet of Things (or machine-to-machine communications). IMC, which has quickly gained over 10,000 members, comprised almost entirely of OEMs, enterprise users, and applications developers, aims to boost understanding and sales in IoT.

Innovating the IIoT - NIWeek2015

 NIWeek2015 was another exciting event with some of the best keynote talks you will hear anywhere. I was able to live broadcast some video snippets from the keynotes using the app Periscope (see my Twitter feed for links to them - @pathindle). Industrial IoT benefits to triple number of connected industrial control devices

According to ABI Research the increasing adoption of IoT within industrial settings will result in a substantial growth of the number of connected industrial devices, in particular industrial control devices like PLCs. The research firm estimates that over the period from 2014 to 2020, the number of connected industrial controllers will triple; growing at an average rate of 20 percent.
