RFaxis, a fabless semiconductor company focused on innovative, next-generation RF solutions for the wireless and connectivity markets, announced that Jorjin Technologies has selected RFaxis’ RF Front-end Integrated Circuits (RFeIC) and embedded antennas for integration into its family of wireless module System-in-Package (SiP) solutions for mobile phones and consumer electronic devices, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee and WiMAX.

Founded in 1997 and with headquarters in Taipei, Jorjin is a top SiP module solution provider of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Zigbee and WiMAX. According to Jorjin’s President Tom Liang, “By selecting RFaxis' products and technology, Jorjin is demonstrating its commitment to offering OEM and ODM customers high quality, cost-effective and best-in-class RF solutions. We will leverage RFaxis’ innovative technologies and products to deliver complete, high-performance, cost-effective wireless solutions which enable our customers to focus on what they do best - product innovation.”

RFaxis’ single-chip, single-die, RFeICs are poised to replace conventional larger, multi-die front-end modules. Leveraging BiCMOS technology, RFaxis’ chips are designed to reduce the complexity of wireless designs, lower manufacturing costs via a smaller footprint and reduced bill of materials cost, accelerate time to market, provide superior performance for a competitive advantage, and are ultra low power to offer improved power efficiency over conventional front-end module technologies.

“Jorjin is very well known and highly respected for its innovations in the SiP technology process, making them a great partner for RFaxis,” said Mike Neshat, President and CEO of RFaxis. “Jorjin’s focus on complete high-performance, cost-effective wireless solutions aligns well with the benefits offered by RFaxis’ products and technology. By integrating all of the components required for a RF front-end onto a single-die, we have introduced the lowest cost, highest performance and smallest form factor RF front-end solution in the world.”

Pre-production of Jorjin’s solutions utilizing RFaxis’ RFeICs will begin in Q4, 2009, with full production commencing in Q1, 2010.
