The Exodus Advanced Communications AMP20178 is a high-power, broadband solid-state amplifier engineered for demanding RF and microwave applications requiring reliable, wideband performance across the 6.0 to 18.0 GHz frequency range. Designed for CW and pulsed operation, the amplifier delivers 400 W typical saturated output power with a minimum gain of 55 dB, making it well suited for EMC/EMI testing, electronic warfare, radar, military communications and advanced laboratory environments, where consistent, repeatable RF performance is required across commercial, defense and research programs worldwide.

The AMP20178 employs a ruggedized Class A/AB linear architecture utilizing advanced GaN transistor technology to achieve high efficiency, excellent linearity and consistent performance over its full operating bandwidth. Gain flatness is specified at ±2.5 dB typical, supporting accurate signal reproduction for broadband and multitone test scenarios while minimizing distortion in complex modulation environments. Integrated protection circuitry provides comprehensive safeguards against input overdrive, output mismatch (VSWR)  and overtemperature conditions, ensuring long-term operational reliability in mission-critical installations and reducing the risk of unplanned downtime.

The amplifier is housed in a compact, rack-mountable chassis designed for seamless system integration in both laboratory and deployed environments. Standard features include internal power monitoring, status indicators and forced air cooling to maintain stable operation across a wide range of ambient conditions. The mechanical layout and modular construction simplify installation, servicing and long-term maintenance, helping operators reduce lifecycle costs while supporting high-duty-cycle operation in continuous-use test facilities.
