Smiths Interconnect will invest over £2 million into talent acquisition, automation, business development, manufacturing and testing at its Costa Rica facility to support the country’s growing electronics manufacturing sector and anticipate the growing needs of the aerospace, space and defence markets.

The Smiths Interconnect facility in Costa Rica has over 33,000 square feet of manufacturing space with more than 180 full-time employees. It offers several different specialties such as high reliability testing and thin and thick film wafer processing. The facility and its manufacturing processes have been certified to AS 9100D and ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 45001:2018 for safety and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental assurance. This investment leverages the country’s strategic location and the facility’s highly skilled workforce.
