MilesTek now stocks a complete line of high temperature, low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) cable assemblies for military and aerospace applications. With an operating temperature range from -30°C to +80°C, the MSA005 series cables have LSZH jackets, using a compound that reduces the amount of toxic and corrosive gases emitted during combustion. This makes the cable assemblies well suited for enclosed areas where PVC’s toxic properties are restricted, such as military vehicles, aircraft, ships, control centers or other enclosed buildings.
These MIL-STD-1553 cables satisfy the multiple requirements of many military installations, including use of LSZH jackets, lead-free solder, high temperature rating and RoHS and REACH compliance.
Connector options include two- and three-slot TRB and TRS plugs and jacks, bulkhead jacks, insulated and non-insulated connectors and versions with blunt cut ends. Some models have a metal spring bend relief to reduce the stress on the cable where it exits from the connector. Off-the-shelf lengths range from 0.03 to 6 m, depending on the model, and each cable assembly is constructed with 0.155 in. outside diameter, 78 Ω, LSZH twinaxial cable.
