Greetings friends and colleagues! I hope that you’re enjoying the summer and getting some much deserved rest and relaxation. It seems like ages ago since many of us converged in the desert for the annual IMS. It’s always a hectic and productive week but the weather was surprisingly pleasant for May in Phoenix.

At the event, Microwave Journal announced the launch of EDI CON USA, to take place on September 20-22 in Boston. Since then, we have had tremendous response, with more than forty companies signed on to exhibit, including premier sponsors Keysight Technologies, Rohde & Schwarz and National Instruments. We will be allocating booth space in the next few weeks, so submit your application soon to get preferred placement if you plan to participate. You can find detailed information about the event at www.ediconusa.com.

EDI CON China is progressing nicely, with many repeat exhibitors and several new companies signed on. This event will take place for the fourth consecutive year in 2016 and the second time at the new CNCC in Beijing, which proved to be an excellent venue for the event. Expect to see plenty of new conference tracks and practical workshops in next year’s edition, along with several surprises still to be announced. Applications to exhibit and additional information can be found at www.ediconchina.com.

We launched a new video platform just in time for IMS and it now hosts more than 800 videos, including our own Frequency Matters series. About a dozen companies signed on as sponsors of the video site, taking advantage of the onsite video at IMS that is included in the package. The same package applies for European Microwave Week in Paris if your company opts to become a sponsor before that major event. You can check out the videos at videos.microwavejournal.com.

Speaking of European Microwave Week, our August issue will serve as the show issue for the event this year, as it takes place in early September in Paris. While that issue is closed and off to the press, there is still the opportunity to sponsor our Online Show Dailies, which deploy before, during and after the show. Sponsorships are exclusive and provide excellent exposure, driving traffic to your booth (or stand as they say in Europe).

We are working on two magazine issues for September; the regular issue and the annual “Military Microwaves” supplement. Deadlines and bonus distribution can be found in the monthly Ad Bulletin.

September is always a good time of the year to get your brand in front of a re-energized audience of engineers coming off of vacation.

I hope that you all have a chance to vacation and enjoy the summer weather. It’s been a nice one here in New England and much deserved after our harsh winter. I’m deflated over the Patriots/Tom Brady debacle and the Red Sox lost season, but looking forward to the Dog Days of August and September in Paris.

Regards,
