KRYTAR, Inc., a leader in the design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment announces the continued expansion of its line of directional couplers with the addition of a new model offering 6 dB of coupling over the frequency range of 7.0 to 12.4 GHz, in a single, compact and lightweight package.
KRYTAR’s new directional coupler continues to expand the family of superior performance narrow-band products covering 0.3 to 50 GHz. KRYTAR’s new coupler adds to the selection of multi-purpose, stripline designs that exhibit excellent coupling. Model 120730 covers the 7.0 to 12.4 GHz frequency band.
This new coupler is uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. They provide solutions for many applications including electronic warfare (EW), commercial wireless, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, and EMC testing environments. For many space-restricted applications the compact size makes KRYTAR directional couplers ideal solutions.
KRYTAR’s new coupler, Model 120730, enhances the product line with performance ratings including Nominal Coupling (with respect to output) of 6 dB, ±0.5 dB, and Frequency Sensitivity of ±0.30 dB. The directional coupler exhibits Insertion Loss (including coupled power) of less than 1.8 dB, directivity of greater than 15 dB, maximum VSWR (any port) is 1.35, Input Power Rating is 20 W average and 3 kW peak. The directional couplers come with industry-standard 2.4-mm SMA female connectors. The compact package measures 1.4" (L) x 0.4" (W) x 0.66" (H), and weigh just 1 oz. Operating temperature is -54° to 85° C. The new directional couplers can be manufactured to meet ridged military specifications.
KRYTAR also offers complete engineering services for custom designs that meet or exceed critical performance and/or packaging specifications. A data sheet with specifications and a package outline drawing is available via KRYTAR’s website at www.krytar.com.
