NEC Corp. announced the deployment of its iPASOLINK microwave mobile backhaul series for NURTS Bulgaria JSC, one of the leading broadcasting companies in Bulgaria.

Broadcasting networks in Bulgaria converted to digital broadcasting during 2012 and NURTS’ broadcasts reach approximately 97 percent of the country’s population. As part of maintaining its services, NURTS will deploy NEC iPASOLINK 200/400/1000 for the backhaul of its digital broadcasting network, which transmits digital signals between the digital broadcasting sites being widely expanded throughout Bulgaria.

“Improving the quality of broadcasting services for our subscribers is always our top priority,” said NURTS Bulgaria JSC. “Along with its high quality digital transmission solutions, we strongly believe NEC’s global leadership in mobile backhaul technology will ensure the success of our digital broadcasting services.”

“We are honoured that NURTS chose the iPASOLINK series to support their TV broadcasting evolution and innovation,” said Nicolae Varvara, managing director of NEC Eastern Europe. “NEC deployed top quality digital transmitter systems for NURTS prior to this agreement and we are extremely grateful for their continued trust in NEC. This collaboration shows how NEC can help NURTS to continue providing top quality broadcasting services.”
