EB, Elektrobit Corp., a developer of embedded technology solutions for automotive and wireless industries, announced its entry-level multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) Over-the-Air (OTA) LTE testing solution. As a basic, cost-effective LTE testing solution, EB's new offering meets the demands of being able to easily and cost effectively test mobile broadband devices with MIMO OTA.

The EB entry level MIMO OTA solution gives customers an easy way to start MIMO OTA testing. It is scalable, giving the wireless operators, original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and chipset vendors the possibility to later upgrade and develop their MIMO OTA testing capability beyond normal conformance testing.

As a 42 MHz bandwidth system, the solution consists of three dual polarized antennas, a 6 channel EB Propsim F8 radio channel emulator and required accessories. The system uses pre-defined realistic and repeatable single cluster channel models. With these models, the performance of a MIMO-capable device can be easily tested, allowing operators and OEMs to swiftly check devices to determine their quality and suitability for LTE mobile broadband networks. As a three-antenna system, it can be installed in a small anechoic chamber.

"We are leveraging our depth and expertise in LTE testing solutions to widen the opportunity for fast and easy access to MIMO Over -the-Air testing," said Janne Kolu, Vice President at EB. "We have carefully listened to our customers' and are now bringing an entry level MIMO OTA solution to the market. EB provides a mature, cost-effective and technologically advanced mobile broadband testing solutions; providing both manufacturers and operators peace-of-mind that their devices are market-ready and able to deliver a more positive mobile experience."
