Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that SystemVue, its premier platform for communications and aerospace/defense systems design, supports high-performance distributed computing. System architects of wireless, 4G smartphone and radar applications can now verify next-generation system performance up to 64 times faster using Linux-based grid computing managers such as the IBM Platform Load Sharing Facility.

Anritsu Co. will be showcasing a wide range of industry leading Test & Measurement solutions at the European Microwave Week 2013, to be held in Nuremburg 8th to 10th October. The newly released MS4640B series of VectorStar vector network analyzers (VNAs) will be on display, together with the MS2830A Spectrum and Signal Analyzers, a range of signal generators, and the handheld RF analyzers, all of which demonstrate different areas of technical leadership.

Park Electrochemical Corp. announced the introduction of its new NL9000 RF/Microwave electronics materials products. NL9000 materials are available globally. They have a dissipation factor (“Df”) of 0.0017 at 10 GHz using stripline testing methodology and a 0.5 dB/cm attenuation loss at 77 GHz for microstrip automotive radar applications.

Linear Technology Corp. announces the LT8697, a 2.5 A, 42 V input capable synchronous step-down switching regulator designed to power 5 V USB applications. The LT8697 delivers precise 5 V regulation at a remote USB port using programmable cable drop compensation to accurately correct the voltage drop from a long connecting cable regardless of variations in load current. The LT8697’s forced continuous operation enables the LT8697 to sink current, maintaining full frequency operation at zero load, further enhancing accurate 5V regulation during load transients.

LTE-TDD will go mainstream in 2014, and it is not just about China Mobile’s recently announced commitment to spend $3.3 billion on rolling out 207,000 LTE-TDD base stations. In the US, Clearwire is anticipated to have rolled out 5,000 LTE-TDD base stations which will play a complementary role in Sprint’s overall LTE service plans. Around the world, there are 60 LTE-TDD deployments, of which 21 have commercially launched.

With the highest isolation by a factor of 50, Peregrine’s switch also sets a new bar in linearity, which makes it ideally suited for the fast-growing market of 802.11ac Wi-Fi access points.
