NEC Corp. has been selected as the development and manufacturing vendor for NTT DOCOMO Inc.'s 1.5 GHz remote radio equipment (RRE) for LTE base stations. The company’s RRE provide a compact and low electricity consumption solution by adopting a specially developed miniature low-loss dielectric filter and a high efficiency amplifier that meets high industry standards.
These features reduce the time and space required for installation, simplify maintenance and lead to cost reductions for equipment, operations and CO2 emissions.
In addition to the 1.5 GHz RRE, NEC has also been selected to deploy 2 GHz LTE base stations and is slated to provide DOCOMO with BDE, core network equipment and related switch products. Furthermore, the company was selected as both the development and manufacturing vendor for LTE mobile terminals.
