In 2010, the MWJ/Besser Webinar series enters its third year with a schedule of popular topics and a track record of solid attendance. This monthly program consistently attracts 1,000 to 2,500 registrants per installment and is earning a reputation within the industry as the premier source for online technical learning.

A sponsors’ marketing message is presented by the moderator at the opening of each webinar along with relevant PowerPoint slides; the sponsor logo appears on every slide in the presentation. The webinar reporting tool provides full contact information of all registrants and the registration form can be customized to include a sponsor’s sales qualification survey.

In January, the MWJ/Besser webinar will focus on radar. Test and measurement manufacturer, Rohde & Schwarz, is one of the webinars co-sponsors. The second and final co-sponsor opportunity is still available. Last year’s event drew over 1,300 registrants from all over the world. A snapshot of the registrant’s job function is shown in Figure 1.

The webinar attracted attendees from a variety of market sectors such as defense (ATK, Ball Aerospace, BAE Systems, Boeing, Cobham, Crane Aerospace, EADS, General Dynamics, Harris, Honeywell, JPL, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins, Thales, etc.), chip manufacturing (Anadigics, Analog Devices, Avago, Eudyna, Freescale, Hittite, Intel, M/A-COM, RFMD, TriQuint, Toshiba, Skyworks, Sierra Monolithics, SiGe Semi, etc.), systems (AT&T, Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, L3-Communications, IBM, etc.), test equipment (Agilent, Aeroflex, Anritsu, Keithley, Tektronix, etc.) and component/subsystem manufacturing (ITT, Giga-tronics, Anaren, e2v, Medtronic, Endwave, etc.). Representatives from government agencies, consumer electronic manufacturers, material vendors and cable/connector suppliers were also present.

The radar topic encompasses numerous disciplines globally, which is why sponsoring this webinar is a great opportunity. Therefore, Microwave Journal is also offering a second opportunity to sponsor a radar webinar in January as we collaborate with Strategic Analytics to present AESA Radar fundamentals, enabling technologies and systems. This webinar will present some technical considerations along with a focus on the radar market itself and should attract executives and other key decision makers from companies in this market.
