SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 2, 2010 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the release of its IO Libraries Suite 16.0 software. The new release connects to more types of instruments and features discover-and-connect capabilities for PXI chassis and instruments using Agilent Connection Expert (ACE).

For higher speed instruments, IO Libraries Suite 16.0 now supports HiSLIP (High-Speed LAN protocol) offering VXI-11 functionality for instrument control at the speed of raw TCP/IP sockets. Other features include an easier way to find and update device drivers, IVI® driver tracing, IVI USBTMC signed driver and automatic update notification.

• automatically detects and configures the instrument interface connected to the PC;
• maintains broad, multi-vendor compatibility with GPIB, USB, LAN, RS-232, VXI, and PXI test instruments; and
• supports a wide set of development environments, including Agilent VEE Pro, MATLAB®, Microsoft Visual Studio®, NI LabVIEW and others.
