5G and IoT Supplement
Well, it's Groundhog Day, and I'm digging out from yet another New England snowstorm. Regardless of Punxsutawney Phil’s prognosis today, it's been a long winter and the end is not yet in sight.
However, images of palm trees and sunshine are not too far away. In just over a week, I'll be joining Editors David Vye and Richard Mumford in Barcelona, Spain for the annual Mobile World Congress. This is always an enjoyable trip, as both the event and the city offer ample excitement. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you there.
Next month, Editor Pat Hindle will be roaming the aisles of the Satellite 2011 show in Washington, DC, mining for news to include in his annual show wrap-up. Flag Pat down when you see him, to make sure that your company is included.
Immediately following the Satellite show, I'll be in sunny Orlando, FL, with several of my co-workers, at the CTIA WIRELESS show. If you're planning to attend, be sure to stop by the RF/Microwave Zone pavilion and the “MIMO Expert Forum”. You can find details of each at www.rfmwzone.com.
Our annual “Cables & Connectors” supplement is distributed with the March issue of MWJ and will get bonus distribution at CTIA, along with IMS and WAMICON. If you play in this market, now is the time to book your ad in this focused publication. The March issue itself is themed “Test & Measurement” and will be placed in the lobby of the convention center for CTIA, providing significant bonus distribution. Discounts apply for advertising in both publications, so contact your sales representative for details.
I'm pleased to announce that MWJ is organizing a special session of the MicroAPPS at this year's MTT-S IMS in Baltimore, MD. This panel will be on “Nonlinear Measurements” and will feature presentations from experts on the topic from Agilent, Anritsu, Rohde & Schwarz and Tektronix, with a Q&A to follow. It will take place on Wednesday, June 8th from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. and promises to be an interesting and informative session.
With plans already in motion for IMS in June, it's only a matter of time before the snow melts and we return to sunny, warm weather. I feel better just having written about the coming months and warmer climes. So shadow or no shadow, spring is on the horizon.
I hope to see you at one of the upcoming events. Until then, think warm. And don't drive angry!
