Anritsu Company has introduced a new platform for its family of handheld analyzers for the wireless field test market, which features integrated functionality in a robust, lightweight, field-proven design. The analyzers will provide field personnel with the tools necessary to deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot today’s most demanding wireless equipment and networks.

The enhancements designed into the new platform affect Anritsu’s Site Master™, Spectrum Master™, and Cell Master™ analyzers, figure 1.

The Site Master is designed for analyzing cables and antenna in the field. The new E series can perform two measurements at once (return loss/VSWR, cable loss, distance-to-fault, phase) at a sweep rate of 1.0 msec/dp. For field operation, the analyzer is rugged and lightweight, has a four hour battery life and usb connectivity.

The Spectrum Master is a handheld spectrum analyzer that is ideal for performing spectrum and interference analysis in the field. It has a range of 100kHz to 6 GHz with a resolution bandwidth of 10 Hz to 3 MHz, greater than 95 dB dynamic range, and phase noise of -105 dBc/Hz @ 100 kHz offset. The analyzer also features a high accuracy power meter and channel scanner.

The Cell Master boosts a 2 MHz to 4 GHz Cable & Antenna Analyzer, 100 kHz to 4 GHz Spectrum Analyzer, 10 MHz to 4 GHz Power Meter, 2G, 3G, and WiMAX Signal Analyzer, and Backhaul Analyzer. The box can perform Return Loss, Cable Loss, VSWR, Distance-to-Fault and low level interference measurements. With 1Gb of internal memory, the Cell Master can store up to 30,000 traces and set-up configurations.

All of the analyzers are robust, lightweight and have the functionality of multiple instruments, saving money and improving efficiencies. the new analyzers An intuitive user interface, high-quality construction, and unmatched price/performance. In addition to providing the technology necessary for today’s field testing requirements, Anritsu is offering certified training and world-class support for field technicians.

Among the new features, the E series offers a new touchscreen interface that includes icon driven shortcuts, figure2; a touchscreen keyboard, figure 3 to simplify trace naming and other user interface operations; a DTF aid to simplify measurement set-up and dual trace capability show users can view RL and DTF simultaneously, figure 4.
