Denmark’s two leading defense industry companies, Terma and Systematic, have entered into a cooperation agreement to cooperate on national and international defense tasks. Consequently, the partners will bid together on Danish Army contracts, which are expected in the coming months. With the Danish market as the platform, the two companies will offer their competencies in solving the major transformation tasks that the armed forces are currently facing both nationally and internationally.
The partners’ main task will be to meet the challenge presented to the armed forces by Network Based Operations (NBO) involving the implementation of a major change process which facilitates communication across nations’ armed forces and between various services and units within the armed forces. Both Terma and Systematic have substantial and complementary competencies within this area, thus presenting them with the opportunity of offering the Danish armed forces an outstanding solution within NBO. Commenting on the new cooperative agreement, Terma’s president and CEO, Jens Maaløe, stated, “The changed focus which we can observe within the armed forces in the Western world, for example, in the form of greater involvement in the international peace-making operations, provides great potential for systems within Network Based Operations. This potential applies to both the Danish market and abroad.”
The CEO of Systematic, Michael Holm, shares those views, saying, “The cooperation involves a unique opportunity to develop joint and competitive solutions for Network Based Operations. Together, our companies are capable of matching companies from the international defense industry. With the Danish domestic market as a platform, we will be able to develop interesting and visionary solutions.”
