Herley Industries Inc. announced that Micro Systems Inc. (MSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Herley located in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, has received an award for over $1.6 M from Itochu Aviation Inc. for the redesign of a radiation test monitor and several spare items for its Target Tracking and Control System (TTCS).

Wayne Armstrong, general manager of MSI, commented, "We are very pleased to continue our support of Itochu and the Japanese Ministry of Defense. Micro Systems sold the TTCS to the Japanese MOD more than ten years ago, and we are now in the process of upgrading the systems to insure that they meet the Japanese requirements well into the future. With this current order, we have received more than $6 M in business from Itochu in 2007. We expect to continue our long standing business relationship with Itochu and the Japanese Ministry of Defense for many years."

Myron Levy, Herley Chairman and CEO, commented, "Herley has established an excellent relationship with Itochu over the years, as demonstrated by repeat business such as this. Meeting the requirements of our international customers is an essential part of Herley's planned growth in the international market."
