European Microwave Week and especially the industry exhibition is very important for us because it provides the opportunity to introduce the latest releases of our software tools in Europe. We use it as a platform for making company announcements and meeting with the press as well as demonstrating our products to the customers. Importantly it is the perfect arena for getting to know customers in person, to discover their requirements, address specific needs and build good business relationships.

From Mician’s point of view it is the most important event related to microwave technology and products in Europe. It plays an important role for us in terms of reaching more companies and researchers in Europe and also more global customers.

Also, since EuMW circulates within Europe we can reach those customers who do not travel long distances for conferences or exhibitions. The exhibition has developed enormously since we first exhibited. The number of exhibitors has increased constantly, which demonstrates the importance of EuMW for industry as well as academia.

Although it may be an obvious point to make it is important that this event happens in Europe. It can draw on participants from European countries and countries neighbouring Europe, with all the cost and travel savings of having an event close to home. Furthermore, from an internal company perspective the conferences are very important as they enable our engineers to gain new ideas for their development work and to obtain an overview of the latest academic innovations. And as European Microwave Week consists of four conferences it is particularly attractive for attendees.

As for the future, the challenge for EuMW is to provide a high quality event each and every year. It needs to continue developing, maybe by attracting more attendees from Eastern Europe. This market is taking on increasing significance and perhaps the organizers should consider expanding the number of the current venues to include East European countries.

For Mician the key challenge is to deliver state-of-the-art tools with speed, accuracy and ergonomic design for our customers and to provide them with the accustomed quality. European Microwave Week offers a good platform for finding out whether we meet those challenges. In Munich we hope to demonstrate that we are by presenting the latest features of μWave Wizard — the Adaptive Frequency Interpolation and the simulation of lumped elements in combination with our waveguide elements. Furthermore, the new release comprises a brand new graphical user interface, which brings more flexibility in terms of design and usage. Come to Stand 300 and find out more.
