Tektronix announced that Tami Newcombe has been promoted to president of the company. She joined Tektronix in early 2017 as commercial president, responsible for leading global sales and marketing.
Newcombe is an accomplished leader with 25 years’ experience at Fortune 500 technology companies. She brought a diverse background to Tektronix when she joined, having held positions in sales leadership, field sales, operations, marketing and engineering.
Previously, Newcombe was at Cisco, where she was vice president for Cisco's commercial sales, a $1.5 billion business. At Cisco, she helped develop new approaches to capture market transitions, capitalize on the power of channel partners and show the business value of technology adoption to customers. This enabled Newcombe and her team to consistently deliver year-over-year growth results.
Prior to Cisco, she held positions as a global client executive, sales engineer, product marketing engineer and development engineer at Analog Devices and IBM.
Newcombe holds an MBA from Union College and bachelor's degrees in electrical and bio engineering from Syracuse University. At Syracuse, she was an accomplished Division I athlete and two-year team captain.
In her role as president of Tektronix, Newcombe reports to Pat Byrne, who previously served as president and is currently a senior vice president at Fortive, parent of Tektronix.
”Tami is an experienced leader with a deep understanding of Tektronix' customers and products. As commercial president, Tami delivered results, drove problem solving and innovation and demonstrated a strong ability to attract and develop high performing, customer obsessed teams. We're excited about the continued impact she will make at Tektronix." — Pat Byrne
Earlier this year, Tektronix announced Marc Tremblay would take the helm at Tektronix. However, responding to business needs, he was appointed president of Fluke, another Fortive test and measurement company.
