AtlanTecRF launched its latest ultra-broadband 500 MHz to 20 GHz digitally-controlled PIN attenuator, which is part of the company’s expanding range of ultra-broadband microwave components and subsystems designed for wide ranging applications in test and measurement, electronic countermeasures, scientific research and general communications.

This new ADA-500-2000-60/0.5 digital attenuator covers the frequency range from 500 MHz to 20 GHz and provides a minimum attenuation range of 60 dB in 0.5 dB steps, with 7-bit TTL control. VSWR is better than 2.0:1. Switching time is less than 200 ns, and the input power handling capability is up to +25 dBm.

The 45 x 30 x 12 mm miniature housing is of gold-plated alloy, with stainless steel SMA female RF input and output connectors and DC and TTL control connections made via solder feedthrus. The ADA-500-20000-60/0.5 operates from a ±5 V DC supply, with less than 70 mA total current draw. It operates from −40°C to +70°C.

AtlanTecRF CEO Geoff Burling said, “We continue to expand our product range with high performance and ultra-broadband products, and this new PIN attenuator with digital control brings to system designers, in so many different applications, product affordability and versatility in a single package.”
