SUBSYSTEMS

Arbitrary Rate Resampler
The model 1000 AR-XX arbitrary rate resampler resamples digital data from one sample rate to another in either a fixed or adaptive mode. The system accepts arbitrary input and output sample rates and has a resampling range from 16:1 to 1:32. Available mother boards include a 64 or 32 Msps resampler or a dual-channel 32 Msps resampler that processes either two coherent channels, one complex channel or two independent channels. Input/output daughtercards provide simple, flexible interfaces to other systems. The system is packaged in a 1.75" rack-mount chassis.

Switch Divider Matrix
The model 1768 switch divider matrix is a highly integrated microwave assembly that operates in the S-band and provides RF signal switching and test signal outputs for a military radar system. The unit is hermetically sealed and packaged to withstand rugged military environments. The matrix contains three amplifiers, three power dividers, three directional couplers and seven RF crossover connections that permit significantly higher packaging density compared to conventional planar microstrip construction. The unit is able to switch any three input signals to any three output ports with high isolation between channels. Size: 3.00" x 4.00" x 0.75".

High Bandwidth Processing Module
Sharp Microelectronics Technology Inc.’s DSP has been incorporated into the company’s model SMT311 high bandwidth processing module, which integrates a 50 MHz model BDSP9124 processor to create a flexible, compact subsystem for computationally intensive mathematical operations on high speed data inputs. The BDSP9124 is the fastest DSP optimized for fast Fourier transform (FFT) and other block-oriented computing. At 50 MHz, the device completes a 1 K complex FFT in less than 65 ms, making it suitable for ultra-high speed frequency domain processing.

Wideband, Low Noise Frequency Synthesizer
The MTS-1500 series permanent magnet yttrium iron garnet-based frequency synthesizers are developed specifically to meet the rigorous demands of high data rate, complex-modulation-based point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems. The devices are designed to provide noise margin for 16, 64, 128 and 256 quadrature amplitude modulation schemes and offer both greater spectral efficiency and higher data rates. Frequency coverage ranges from 4 to 50 GHz.

Two-way RF Transceiver Module
The model ISG 2000 two-way RF transceiver module is designed to interface directly with 64/256 quadrature amplitude modulation demodulator/modulator ICs, providing a complete RF solution in a single drop-in module. The module simplifies the interface between the RF and digital sides of a modem design, saving time and expenses for modem manufacturers and system integrators. The unit is 100 percent solid state, eliminating the hand-wound coils found in other RF modules. Assembly and testing is fully automated. The module operates from 91 to 860 MHz downstream and 5 to 42 MHz upstream with an RF input level of –15 to +15 dBmV. The RF gain range is from 25 to 75 dB. Size: 3.4" x 2.0" x 0.5". Price: less than $30 in volume quantities.
