Selector Tool

This Web-based “inductor finder” makes quick work of finding and sorting all of the company’s products that fit a user’s requirements. Enter the inductance and operating frequency plus any other critical parameters like SRF, DCR, Q, mounting and dimensions. The program returns a detailed table of suitable inductors complete with specifications. A user can sort on any field to make easy comparisons based on key parameters. A click on any part number brings up the complete Web page where a user can view performance graphs, request samples, download SPICE models and S-parameters, and view pricing. Other tools on the company’s Web site help a user select DC-DC converter inductors and find crosses to competitors’ parts.

Chip Packaging Toolkit

The release of the chip packaging toolkit option for Pulsonix PCB design software targets chip packaging and chip-on-board designers. The toolkit provides the option to create and annotate die, bond pads and bond wires, and also allows the automatic placing of bond pads around bare die components. On-line design rule check (DRC) and batch design rules can be set for minimum and maximum length of the bond pad from the die pad, and for crossing over of insulated and non-insulated wires.

Diode Library

The Diode Library™ provides a collection of measurement-based varactor and Schottky diode models for all popular substrate materials. The model library supports Agilent’s Advanced Design System (ADS). Future software updates will include UNIX support on Sun Solaris and HP-UX, Eagleware’s GENESYS and Applied Wave Research’s Microwave Office.

Microwave Impedance Calculator

The MWIJ (JAVA version of the MWI program written by G.R. Traut) applet allows the user, for a given impedance (or vice versa), to calculate transmission line losses and temperature rise, and obtain line widths and calculations for stripline and microstrip circuits through the use of a JAVA enabled browser.

Interactive Cable Finder

To provide a measure of application engineering that is available on the user’s schedule, the microwave portion of the company’s Web site includes an interactive cable finder that walks the user through a range of configuration options to arrive at a best-fit flexible or semi-rigid cable product. The cable finder provides a part number, various performance data, and basic cable construction and armoring images and descriptors. An insertion loss (IL) calculator (for flexible assemblies) further customizes product data by computing IL at user-specific frequencies and temperatures. To begin an interactive search, go to www.stormproducts.com/microwave and click on “FIND A PRODUCT.”
