Renaissance Electronics Corp. announced it is pursuing the development of state-of-the-art MEMS switches for high end integrated systems applications. Renaissance is working with scientists and engineers at MIT, who have developed 900 MHz to 40 GHz SPST, SPDT and SP4T switches with negligible dispersion. The switching times on these switches is on the order of 10 to 20 microseconds and handle power level on the order of 5 watts. These MEMS switches can provide solutions for applications that require broadband frequency performance, very high reliability and compact size. Renaissance is moving forward to develop prototypes for product concept verification.
