The IMS 2012 Women in Microwaves reception will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 17:30-19:30, at Museum of Archeology and History of Montréal (Pointe-à-Callière - point in the Old Port named after the third governor of Montréal, Chevalier Louis Hector de Callière, who had his house built on this very location in 1688). The museum opened its doors in 1992, on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of the city. It reveals remarkable findings of archeological digs which started in 1980. They display the evidence of human activity on this location for the last one thousand years. The reception will be held in the Restaurant L'Arrivage, located on the top floor of the museum. Glass-walled, the venue offers spectacular views of the Old Port.
Although the reception is not combined with a museum tour, information about the museum will be available to the attendees, should this evening spark their interest to explore it further. The Women in Microwaves reception aims to acknowledge the role of women in the microwave community, and to encourage young women to pursue a career in microwave engineering. Everybody is welcome! Please register, as the space is limited. Join us in a relaxed atmosphere and with a view of the evening slowly descending on the Old Port. There will be drinks, fine hors-d'oeuvres, small gifts and - last but not least - good conversation, re-connecting with old friends and making new ones!
