Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced two new SMT packaged high resolution 6-Bit and 7-bit Digital Attenuators which are ideal for automotive, broadband, cellular/3G, WiMAX/4G, military and test & measurement equipment applications from DC to 6 GHz.

The HMC792LP4E is a digitally controlled GaAs MMIC Digital Attenuator which operates from DC to 6 GHz, and can be programmed to provide up to 15.75 dB attenuation with 0.25 dB resolution. The HMC792LP4E delivers insertion loss as low as 2.2 dB, and IP3 up to +55 dBm in any state. This high linearity Digital Attenuator also features a flexible CMOS/ TTL compatible control interface which accepts serial, parallel, or latched parallel control inputs.

The HMC759LP3E is a 7-bit BiCMOS Digital Attenuator which operates from 10 to 300 MHz, and can be programmed to provide up to 31.75 dB attenuation in 0.25 dB steps. This versatile digital attenuator exhibits excellent attenuation accuracy, and delivers P1dB and output IP3 of up to +21 dBm and +40 dBm respectively. The HMC759LP3E features a CMOS/TTL compatible serial control interface, user selectable power up states, and a serial output port for cascading other Hittite serially controlled components.

The HMC792LP4E is housed in a RoHS compliant 4x4 mm QFN leadless package while the HMC759LP3E is housed in a RoHS compliant 3x3 mm QFN leadless package. These new high performance control products complement Hittite’s broad line of Digital Attenuators and Digital Variable Gain Amplifiers for IF and RF applications.
