PRESS RELEASE CST previews significant software upgrade CST STUDIO SUITE™ 2006B June 12th, 2006, CST - Computer Simulation Technology previews new release of CST STUDIO SUITE™ 2006B including the industry standard 3D EM Time Domain tool, CST MICROWAVE STUDIO®. Research and development engineers involved in the design of high frequency components, wireless communications, emc and signal integrity, will now benefit from the augmented functionality and interoperability of the latest release of CST STUDIO SUITE™ 2006B. Solver technology In this latest release, improved and extended solver technology has been at the forefront of CST STUDIO SUITE™’s development. Users of CST MWS’ Time Domain solver can now take advantage of the new Fast PBA mesher for higher performance and robustness, and a more flexible subgridding scheme with drastically reduced memory requirements. The transient solver engine is the first module to run with Linux operating systems. The Frequency Domain solver features plane wave incidents and slanted ports and the performance of mesher and solver has been increased. CST MWS 2006B’s range of solvers of has been enriched by the addition of an Integral Equation solver based on the Multilevel Fast Multipole Method (MLFMM). Streamlined workflows CST has continued to focus on connecting best-in-class software. Two completely new interfaces have been developed, to Mician’s µWave Wizard mode matching software and AWR’s Microwave Office® circuit simulation tool. In addition there have been significant improvements made to the interfaces with EDA tools from Cadence, Zuken, Mentor, and Agilent. Coupled simulation between CST MICROWAVE STUDIO®’s (CST MWS) high frequency solvers and CST EM STUDIO™’s magneto-static and thermal solver has now been enabled. "2006B is a major release which contains a number of significant improvements which are especially valuable to those wishing to solve complex structures such as antenna systems or SiP/SoP”, commented Dr. Bernhard Wagner, CST’s Managing Director, Sales & Marketing “And the addition of an Integral Equation Solver to our portfolio further enhances CST’s leading position in offering the most complete solution for 3D EM simulation.” - 1 - About CST STUDIO SUITE™ The CST STUDIO SUITE™ comprises CST’s 3D EM simulation tools: the renowned CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® for high frequency applications, CST EM STUDIO™ for low frequency and statics and CST PARTICLE STUDIO™, for charged particle dynamics, and is rounded off with CST DESIGN STUDIO™ for synthesis and circuit simulation. All programs are accessible through CST DESIGN ENVIRONMENT™ which facilitates coupled simulation. About CST CST is one of the two largest suppliers of electromagnetic simulation software and has continuously enhanced its position as market and technology leader in 3D Time Domain simulation. With over 90 employees worldwide and a network of qualified distributors, 130 people are dedicated to the development and support of its EM products in more than 30 countries.
