Huber + Suhner has been awarded a major order for radio frequency assemblies and connectors predestined for the second series of 236 Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft. The order is valued at approximately CHF 13 million and will be processed over the next three to four years. It is the second order for the company and follows on from an order for the initial series of 100 Eurofighters. For the project the company’s radio frequency components link the system’s antennas, computers, transmitters, receivers and other components that together constitute the aircraft’s Defensive Aids Sub System (DASS).

The Typhoon Eurofighter is Europe’s largest military aviation project, which has been in development for 20 years. The first aircraft have been delivered and current predictions number the final production total at 620 aircraft. The project is operated by a consortium of 400 specialized European aerospace suppliers from partner countries Italy, Germany, the UK and Spain.

Significantly, the Eurofighter order is part of Huber + Suhner’s entry into the aircraft construction and aerospace markets, which includes orders for a number of the Swiss company’s solutions for the highly advanced Airbus A380. In fact, European and US space missions increasingly rely on the company’s products.
