Title: Enhancing Modeling of Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Devices with Uncertainty Quantification

Date: May 1, 2025

Time: 8am PT / 11am ET

Sponsored by: COMSOL

Presented by: Sergey Yankin, COMSOL

Abstract:
High-frequency device performance depends on precise design, but real-world factors like material variations and manufacturing tolerances can cause deviations from simulation results. Understanding and accounting for these uncertainties is key to ensuring consistent performance and reliability.

During this webinar, you will see how factors like varying substrate properties and fabrication tolerances affect performance, such as return loss (S11). We'll cover practical uncertainty quantification (UQ) methods in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, including sensitivity analysis, uncertainty propagation, and reliability analysis. The webinar will include a live demonstration of how UQ helps to refine tolerances, reduce failures, and improve manufacturing consistency.

Tune in to the webinar to see how UQ can be used to close the gap between simulation and real-world performance when designing antennas, filters, and MMICs.

Presenter Bios:
Sergey Yankin has been working at COMSOL for more than nine years. For the past two years he has been a member of the global support team located in Sweden. He has a PhD in radiophysics and specializes in AC/DC, RF, wave optics, MEMS, and plasma simulations.
