Over 1000 5G Devices Announced and 180 5G Networks Launched

The Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) recently announced that 180 5G networks have now launched in 72 countries/territories around the world. The association’s research found that by the end of September 2021, 465 operators in 139 countries/territories are investing in 5G networks in the form of tests, trials, pilots, planned and actual deployments. The GSA has also identified nearly 400 organizations deploying private mobile networks based on LTE or 5G or holding appropriate licenses.

This latest GSA report also addresses LTE with data revealing that there are 796 operators that have launched public LTE Networks worldwide (offering broadband fixed wireless access and or mobile services) and that 429 operators have launched LTE fixed wireless access services (excludes those offering MiFi/dongle services only). The Global mobile Suppliers Association also reported that 5G devices have surpassed 1000 with 1060 announced, representing an increase of 21.4 percent in the last quarter. Among those 66.4 percent are commercially available, with number of available devices reaching 704.

The new 5G Device Ecosystem – End-September 2021 report states that 158 vendors have now announced available or coming soon with 5G devices across 22 different form factors. Devices recorded by GSA include over 500 5G phones and 188 FWA CPE devices. Among the 1060 announced 5G devices, 724 of them support C-Band band n78.
