7Layers has been recognized by MetroPCS Communications as an approved test lab for LTE device certification. The cooperation expands the options available to mobile phone manufacturers who are preparing to introduce LTE devices. 7Layers is now able to help manufacturers to certify devices in a timely manner for MetroPCS’ network.

7Layers is pleased to expand its LTE test services to include MetroPCS handset testing. Manufacturers can now rely upon 7Layers leading LTE technology know-how and experience to help test and prepare devices for network operation. Handsets ready for market access are able to be tested and certified for PTCRB, GCF and three major US carriers at one location.

“7Layers is proud to offer device approval testing for MetroPCS’ 4G LTE network,” stated Mahesh Kodukula of 7Layers. “MetroPCS’ decision is an acknowledgement of our outstanding LTE testing expertise.”

In its continued commitment to LTE, 7Layers has greatly expanded its LTE testing capabilities and capacity through a wide variety of test equipment at its worldwide locations. The company works with chipset vendors, network operators and device manufacturers in need of validation and verification services. Through early involvement in generating and validating LTE device approval programs and test cases, 7Layers is especially experienced with this new wireless standard.

MetroPCS is also an LTE innovator, with its most recent achievement as the first carrier to bring Voice over LTE (VoLTE) services to the United States. Currently, MetroPCS has covered about 90 percent of its CDMA footprint with LTE data service. By the end of 2012, the company plans to be able to offer complete LTE coverage of its service area, covering over 280 million people.
