Chelmsford, MA, February 28, 2006 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced five new GaAs PHEMT 1W and 2W MMIC Power Amplifiers which are ideal for Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multi-Point Radios, Test Instrumentation, Military and Space applications from 6 to 13 GHz. Optimized for high gain and high output power, the HMC590 and HMC590LP5(E) are high dynamic range GaAs PHEMT MMIC 1 Watt Power Amplifiers which operate from 6 to 9.5 GHz. These amplifiers provide 25 dB of gain, +31.5 dB of saturated output power, typical output IP3 of +40 dBm and 25% PAE from a +7V supply. The HMC590 is intended for Multi-Chip-Modules (MCMs) and hybrid assemblies, while the HMC590LP5(E) is ideal for SMT applications. The HMC591 and HMC591LP5(E) are high dynamic range GaAs PHEMT MMIC 2 Watt Power Amplifiers which exhibit high efficiency and high output IP3 characteristics over the 6 to 10 GHz operating range. These amplifiers provide 23.5 dB of gain, +34 dBm of saturated power, typical output IP3 of +43 dBm and 27% PAE from a +7V supply. The HMC591 is intended for Multi-Chip-Modules (MCMs) and hybrid assemblies, while the HMC591LP5(E) is ideal for SMT applications. The HMC592 is a high dynamic range GaAs PHEMT MMIC 1 Watt Power Amplifier which operates from 10 to 13 GHz. This amplifier die provides 20 dB of gain, +30.5 dBm of saturated power, and 23% PAE from a +7V supply. The HMC592 is ideal for integration into Multi-Chip-Modules (MCMs) and exhibits a typical output IP3 of +38 dBm. The HMC590, HMC590LP5(E), HMC591, HMC591LP5(E) and HMC592 amplifiers complement Hittite’s existing line of high performance GaAs MMIC Power Amplifiers, which provide broad frequency coverage from 0.4 to 40 GHz. All five of these Power Amplifiers have RF I/Os that are DC blocked and matched to 50 Ohms. The HMC590, HMC591 and HMC592 are furnished in chip form, while the HMC590LP5(E) and HMC591LP5(E) are housed in 5 x 5 mm RoHS compliant packages.
