The Exhibition at Microwave Week is the largest gathering of high-frequency component manufacturers worldwide. Many companies are rolling out new products for this show and will use this opportunity to demo products, hold in-booth workshops and talk to customers. Microwave Journal's Online Show Daily will keep track of the activity at the show with regular news updates and reports from our editors. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from the Online Show Daily for IMS2009.

Multi-media
If a picture is worth a thousand words, what’s the word count on a video? The videos on our Online Show Daily will provide IMS2009 attendees (and even those who miss the event) an inside view of what is happening at the exhibition. Our multi-media section is home to video interviews with participating vendors speaking to our editors directly from their exhibition booth. We will talk with company executives and product managers about what new products they are releasing this year. These interviews will take place on Tuesday morning and will be posted to the site by Wednesday morning.

Our multi-media section will also feature product videos from exhibiting companies. These videos will be available for viewing as we receive them, so be sure to check in often. Also check out our informational podcasts including a preview/history of IMS Boston, technical session overview, what to see and do in Boston, and how to get around town. Listen to them while you work or download them to your MP3 player to listen to them on the go.

Also, our roving cameras will capture images from the exhibition space. Come to the MWJ photo gallery to see your friends, co-workers and perhaps even yourself at the exhibition.

Show Blogs
This year we have expanded our show-related blogs to include regular entries from editors Pat Hindle and David Vye as well as guest blogs from Leonard Pelletier of Freescale and Sherry Hess of AWR Corp. Leonard is dispensing his wisdom on the state of high power RF transistors and the applications for which they are used. Follow Leonard on his blog here or directly for the exhibition floor via his Twitter entries.

Also this month’s Expert Advice from the Microwave Journal website features Gayle Collins of Freescale writing about the power amplifier papers that will be presented at the technical sessions. For her take on what to see and the impact these papers have on the field, check out her blog at IMS2009 Expert Advice

Twitter
One of the latest social networking sites starting to take hold in the business world is Twitter. At IMS2009 we are encouraging everyone to join in the action with sharing ideas and insights using Twitter. Several companies and individuals are already Twittering about the show and we are encouraging all to participate either with their own entries or just by joining up to receive free updates on what is happening in real time. This Online Show Daily website features a feed of the IMS2009 Tweets to follow the activities.

Event News
Staff Editor Jenn DiMarco keeps everyone up to date with her regular postings of show-related news items. The Journal has been receiving new product announcements and other show-related news items leading up to this year’s IMS and we will continue to receive them through the course of the exhibition. New items will be posted multiple times a week pre-show and then daily the week of IMS.

Product Showcase
The Online Show Daily presents the IMS2009 product showcase, with a summary write-up and photo of the latest products being featured at the exhibition along with links to the vendor’s website. This is the show where many manufacturers reveal their latest and greatest new products; our showcase let’s you see what they’ve been up to. The showcase gets updated several times a week heading into the show and daily during Microwave Week.

Exhibitor Profiles
The exhibitor profiles feature over 100 exhibitors from this year’s IMS, a short description of what these companies will be highlighting at the show and their booth location. Use this information along with the product showcase and our link to the exhibition floor (via mapmyshow.com) to plan out your time at IMS2009.
