Mason F. Fein has been appointed director of sales at Wide Band Systems Inc., Rockaway, NJ, according to an announcement by William B. Sullivan, president. His responsibilities will include worldwide sales of the company’s miniature fast frequency synthesizers for automated test equipment, simulator systems, built-in-test equipment, local and digitally tuned oscillators, and other RF and microwave applications.

Fein has a broad background of successful sales and marketing experience with high technology products and systems for the defense and telecommunications industries. He was most recently director of sales at Red Rock Technologies Inc., Scottsdale, AZ, where he helped achieve significant sales growth. Prior to that he was director of worldwide sales at Mountain Optech Inc., Boulder, CO, a $110 M information technology developer serving the defense industry. In addition to these positions, Fein also served at Quarterdeck Systems and Clinical Diagnostics, both Colorado companies, as national sales manager and director of sales, respectively.

In his announcement, Sullivan added that Fein has traveled extensively throughout the world establishing and working with independent sales representative organizations and customers and prospects. In the early 1980s Fein was a sales representative at Smith Kline Industries, where he was responsible for $4 M in annual sales and where he achieved the company’s “rookie of the year award” for exceeding his sales quota in his territory.

In addition to its miniature fast frequency synthesizer products, Wide Band Systems develops, manufactures and markets a series of wide band microwave digital frequency discriminators (DFD), instantaneous frequency measurement receivers (IFM) and associated products. These products are designed for use in many current and planned radar warning receivers (RWR), electronic warfare (EW) systems, electronic countermeasure (ECM) systems, electronic intelligence (ELINT) systems and C4 ISR systems. The company’s DFD and IFM systems are used by defense forces throughout the free world in aircraft, surface and undersea vessels, RPVs and land vehicles of all kinds.
