The FCC’s auction of 70 MHz spectrum between 3.55 to 3.65 GHz concluded yesterday, raising $4.586 billion in gross proceeds. The winners will be announced within a few days.

“This auction has been a key part of our 5G FAST Plan and our ongoing push to make more mid-band spectrum available for 5G,” said FCC chair Ajit Pai.

The FCC said the auction, designated 105, offered the largest number of spectrum licenses in a single FCC auction. The Priority Access Licenses were defined by county, with 20,625 of the available 22,631 awarded.
